An invitation to join our new ‘email discussion list’

Hmmm, maybe this doesn’t sound that exciting? But have you ever wanted to send messages to everyone in the Utopias Bach community? Perhaps you’d like to share questions, requests, work, ideas, and opportunities directly with each other. This could include for example, an interesting event coming up that you think others might like to hear about, organising lift-sharing to events, or asking for help with something.

At the moment emails to utopiasbach@gmail.com only go to Lindsey, who is the administrator (or ‘Keeper of the Compost’ to give her official title).  Lindsey doesn’t have a way of sharing things with everyone unless it is something to go on the Utopias Bach website.

This is obviously not ideal, so we want to try making it possible for members of Utopias Bach to contact each other directly.

So we have set up Cymuned UTOPIAS BACH Community email discussion list through which you can send messages to each other (all languages welcome of course!).

It’s an experiment - it’s success will depend on how many of us give it a go. And you can easily unsubscribe anytime.

We invite you to join this experiment by subscribing to the list:

 

1.     To subscribe please go to: www.jiscmail.ac.uk/UTOPIASBACH

2.     Subscribing can feel a bit complex. Don’t worry! Because Sarah Pogoda has made a short video showing you how to do it. You can watch that here

3.     Your confirmation email will almost certainly go into your junk folder, so please check that!

  

4.     If you have trouble subscribing even after watching the video, simply email us and we can do it for you. 🌿

How to use the email discussion list once you are subscribed

Once you are subscribed you will start receiving messages from others on the list.

If you want to reply to a message someone else has sent to the list, you can choose to reply only to the person who sent the message (by posting just to that person’s email), or to the whole Cymuned Utopias Bach Community (by posting to UTOPIASBACH@JISCMAIL.AC.UK). Before you send, check who it is going to (only send to everyone via the jiscmail address if it needs to be everyone!).


You can send a message to the list:

1.     Simply send an email to UTOPIASBACH@JISCMAIL.AC.UK in the usual way you send emails.

2. Please only post things that maybe relevant in some way to the interests of those taking part in Utopias Bach

3.    So that it isn’t overwhelming, please be mindful of how many messages you send!



You can unsubscribe at any time using the link that is provided on every email.

It is a pain to set up, but once enough of us have done it, we think it could be a wonderful resource… allowing us to build those connections and help our community to flourish.
