Tri gweithdy yn Nyffryn Peris ym Mis Gorffennaf, yn archwilio stori draddodiadol Canthrig Bwt, cawres neu wrach oedd yn byw yn Nant Peris, trwy ysgrifennu a dweud stori, darlunio a chyd-ddychmygu.
Byddwn yn ail-ystyried stori Canthrig, gan ofyn a ellid ail-ddehiongli’r cymeriad yma trwy chwyddwydr gyfoes i gynrychioli rhywbeth sy’n bwysig i ni am ein perthynas gyda’r lle arbennig yma, a’r byd yn ehangach.
Bydd cyfle i’r cyfranogwyr ddychmygu plant Canthrig, fydd yn ddatblygiad pellach o’r stori, ac yn ffordd o archwilio symbolau yn y tirwedd diriaethol a’r tirwedd mewnol.

Rhan o Stori’r Tir Dyffryn Peris
Three workshops in Dyffryn Peris in July, exploring the traditional story of Canthrig Bwt, a giantess or witch who lived in Nant Peris, by writing and telling a story, drawing and imagining together.
Together we will reconsider the story of Canthrig, asking how this character could be reinterpreted through a contemporary lens to represent something that is important to us about our relationship with this special place, and the wider world.
Our focus will be on imagining who might be the children of Canthrig, as further development of the story, exploring symbols in the tangible landscape and the internal landscape.

Bydd y gweithdy awyr agored hwn yn digwydd yng nghysgod Meini Bwldro’r Cromlech, lle arferai Canthrig fyw. Bydd ein taith yn dechrau trwy glywed ail-ddehongliad cyfoes o Stori wreiddiol Canthrig Bwt. Yna byddwn yn gweithio’n unigol ac gyda’n gilydd i archwilio symbolau yn y dirwedd ddiriaethol a’r dirwedd fewnol gan ein helpu i ddychmygu plant dynol/mwy na dynol Canthrig. Byddwn yn gorffen gyda phicnic gyda’r holl gymeriadau rydym wedi’u creu.
Nodyn: Byddwn yn trefnu rhannu ceir i’r lleoliad. Er bod y lleoliad wrth ymyl y ffordd, mae mynediad yn gofyn am gerdded dros dir garw a bydd y toiledau agosaf 10 munud o daith mewn car i ffwrdd. Nodwch anghenion mynediad ar eich archeb.

Workshop 1 : Imagining, describing, writing new characters
Friday 4th July 2025, 10:30am-2:00pm
Location: The Cromlech Boulders
This outdoor workshop will take place in the shadow of the Cromlech Boulders, where Canthrig used to live.
Our journey will begin by hearing a contemporary re-interpretation of the original Canthrig Bwt Story. We will then work individually and together to explore symbols in the tangible landscape and the internal landscape helping us to imagine the human/more-than-human children of Canthrig. We will end with a picnic with all the characters we have created.
Note: We will arrange car-shares to the location. Although the location is next to the road, access requires walking over rough ground and the nearest toilets will be a 10 minute drive away. Please note access needs on your booking.

Mae'r gweithdy hwn i ddatblygu ein cymeriadau Plant Canthrig ymhellach, gan ddefnyddio Exquisite Corps fel man cychwyn, byddwn yn dechrau delweddu ein cymeriadau Plant Canthrig. Byddwn hefyd yn datblygu ein straeon ymhellach ac yn gweld sut maen nhw i gyd yn dechrau cyd-fynd.

Workshop 2 : Imagining, drawing

This workshop is to further develop our Children of Canthrig characters, using Exquisite Corps as a starting point, we will start to visualise our Children of Canthrig characters. We’ll also further develop our stories and see how they all start to fit together.
