This series of sessions are for Crone Cast members to start making costumes/performance around the theme of Dod yn Wrych - Becoming Hedge.

Byddwn ni’n archwilio:
hedge as cynefin for human and more than human ecosystem
dod yn wrych – how we can embody a moving hedge - a shifting place of safety, threshold and connection
materials, sounds, stories, songs, welsh vocabulary (becoming a sonic installation)
historical connections including:
legendary witches (and connection to Canthrig Bwt a’i phlant) o Hedge school – link to pioneering campaigner for girls’ education, Elspeth Hughes-Davies (Rhys) - she created her own hedge school in Llanberis in the 19th Century, carving words on stones/slates in walls for her children to learn.
Language including experimenting with exaggerated welsh sounds (ch, ll, ng, a, dd, ph, rh, th, u ac ati) linked to words like Grwach, Gloch, Gwyrch, Gwlychu
deconstructing sounds and language
Making creatures (birds, mice, insects, hedgehogs) to perform on sticks weaving in and out and along the hedge
